While the chilly temperatures certainly tested players and spectators alike, the wind came as something of a blessing after yesterday\u2019s weather, which would have made play nearly impossible.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"574\">Despite the challenging conditions, the spirit and determination of our women competitors shone through.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"818\">A huge congratulations to <strong data-start=\"602\" data-end=\"621\">Lesley Montfort<\/strong>, who claimed the win in <strong data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"674\">A Grade Championship<\/strong>, defeating <strong data-start=\"686\" data-end=\"707\">Leanne Bruggemann<\/strong> in a well-fought match, finishing 4 and 2. Both players showed great composure and skill throughout the round.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1073\">In <strong data-start=\"823\" data-end=\"834\">B Grade<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"852\">Aileen Myatt<\/strong> was awarded the win by default after her opponent was unfortunately forced to forfeit. While not the way anyone wishes to claim a title, Aileen\u2019s consistency and commitment throughout the competition deserve recognition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1301\">A special thank you goes to all the women who took part in this year\u2019s Championship, and to the hardy supporters who followed the action despite the chill.
